the Entomological Society of Southern Africa in 1993. A single
volume consisting of two issues (March and September) is
published annually. The journal is indexed in all major
abstracting journals.

African Entomology is a peer reviewed scientific journal that
publishes original research articles and short communications on
all aspects of entomology, with the emphasis on the advancement
of entomology on the African continent. Authors wishing to
submit articles for publication should consult the Guidelines for
Authors page.
African Entomology Memoirs (ISSN 0-620-24291-4) have replaced
the Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa
Memoirs. Memoirs are reserved for monographic taxonomic works
and other major studies and are published at irregular
intervals.

A new
journal, African Entomology, replaced the Journal of the
Entomological Society of Southern Africa in 1993.
The first of
the Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa
Memoirs was published in 1947, as part of a separate series to
accommodate monographs that were too large to be published in
the journal. Fourteen Memoirs were published between 1947 and
1981. Copies of most back issues are still available.

Proceedings:
Congress Proceedings (ISSN 1010-2566) are published biennially.
Abstracts of all of the papers and posters presented at the
national congresses of the Entomological Society of Southern
Africa are published as Proceedings of the Congress.
